NAAIA Mourns the Loss of Tyre Nichols

WASHINGTON, DC – NAAIA extends our deepest sympathies to the family of Tyre Nichols, who was brutally murdered by Memphis police officers.

At NAAIA, our focus is on the equitable diversification of workplaces and ensuring Black,  African American and People of Color have access to the professional development, mentoring and sponsorship necessary to achieve success at every level. The murder of Tyre Nichols reminds us that our mission to diversify the insurance industry is not exclusive to the work needed to address and repair the effects of institutional racism that are alive and well in our society.

We stand with the family of Tyre Nichols, the city of Memphis and all who are experiencing harm at his loss. As we enter another watershed moment in the movement, we encourage our members and friends to engage in self-care, taking and holding space for your grief as needed.

In grace and peace,

Omari Jahi Aarons

Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer
