Lamarre brings marketing communications and DEI experience to board; Brandi N. Monique, JD, is reappointed as National Emerging Leader.
The National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) announced today the appointment of Michele Lamarre to its board of directors, effective September 20, 2022. Lamarre is the Vice President and Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging at QBE North America, a global insurance leader focused on helping customers solve unique risks.
Prior to joining QBE, Lamarre led marketing and communications teams at AIG, and held Chief of Staff and strategic planning roles with Moody’s, UBS Financial Services and JPMorgan Chase. Lamarre earned an MBA from the University of Miami Herbert School of Business and her B.A. from Hofstra University. Lamarre’s appointment fills an open board term that expires in 2024.
“We’re excited to welcome Michele to the board,” said NAAIA Board Chair Janet Jordan-Foster. “Her expertise in marketing and communications will provide insight into how NAAIA continues to deepen and grow our brand in the insurance industry and among new and experienced talent.”
The board also reappointed Brandi N. Monique to a three-year term as the National Emerging Leader, a board seat dedicated to ensuring millennial representation in leadership. Monique is Vice President in AIG’s Employment Practices Liability Technical Claims Department. Prior to beginning her career at AIG, Brandi practiced law at a midsize firm in Manhattan where she advised insurance companies of their legal rights and obligations. Brandi earned her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Maryland at College Park.
“Brandi has diligently worked to engage professionals who are early career or new to the insurance industry to understand their needs,” said Jordan-Foster. “Her efforts are hitting their stride and I’m excited she is continuing this important work.”
